SOHS 13th Annual Scarecrow Festival
It’s Fall and time to make your scarecrow to protect your fields and gardens from marauding birds, goblins, and scary ghosties and ghoulies! You can do this at SOHS Hanley Farm’s 13th Annual Scarecrow Festival, October 28 and 29, Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 3pm each day. When done, take your scarecrow home OR enter it to the Scarecrow Contest!
Scarecrow-making kits will be available for sale ($20 for non-Members, and $15 for SOHS Members), and have everything you’ll need to make your scarecrow, including the frame, straw, clothes, accessories, directions, etc. If you haven’t made a scarecrow before, don’t worry. SOHS volunteers will be on hand to help you. When you’ve completed your scarecrow, you can take it home - OR enter it to the Scarecrow Contest, and before you leave the farm, be sure to vote for your favorite scarecrow. Voting results will be announced on Sunday, October 29 at 3pm.
In addition to scarecrow-making and the scarecrow contest, there will be fun for the whole family. Hayrides, heritage games, tours of the historic Hanley Farmhouse, and more! With the exception of Hanley Farmhouse tours, admission is free and includes all the family-fun events. Hanley Farmhouse tours are $10 for adults, and $5 for children under 12. (SOHS Members receive a 20% discount.)
