Sundays at Hanley Farm
Beginning May 26, and every Sunday thereafter, up to and including September 2, enjoy a Sunday afternoon at Hanley Farm. Spend a relaxing afternoon, escape the summer heat in the shade of the Hanley trees, bring a picnic, take a docent-led tour of the historic Hanley House, or take a self-guided farm tour, enhanced with brochures about the unique plantings and the Hanley Family history. And every week there?s a different event. May 26, you?ll be able to talk with experts about growing and propagating heirloom plants. In June there will be horses! The Renaissance Riders join us, along with a variety of crafts and jewelry vendors. In July you won?t want to miss the Bluegrass Circle Jam and barbeque. Something new every Sunday! Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) plants can be hybrids, or open pollinating. Do you know the Difference? Do you want to save your heirloom plants for future Generations? May 26, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., learn from the experts! ? Chris Hardy, of Hardy Seeds, will speak about the importance of growing and saving heirloom bio-regionally adapted seeds. ? Learn about plant propagation from Brad Smith, of Feral Seeds. ? And botanist Gretchen Vos will speak about the importance of naturalized gardens for Monarch butterflies. We look forward to seeing you at Hanley Farm Sunday, May 26, and every Sunday throughout the summer!
